Mission

Hip Hop Saves Lives (HHSL) is a non profit organization that is here to re-instate the original purpose of Hip Hop. We do this by teaching humanity through hip hop. Why, because Hip Hop came from humanity. It's original purpose was to serve as an alternative to gang and street life. In the words of its founder Kool Herc "it was just a way to reach the kids, it just happened to come through music"

  HHSL Curriculum

1. The youth choose a new EVERYDAY HERO from their city/state, country or from around the globe each week.
2. They write and record a song celebrating the hero and what they have learned through their work
3. We shoot a full length video for each song.
4. Then we send the song and video to the hero as a gift that we call our "Random act of kindness" for the week.
5. lastly, at the end of the semester we press up a cd of the kids music and produce fundraisers. 100% of the proceeds raised fund schools in Haiti and soon Africa  in support of education and clean water.

This program gives youth global education and the opportunity to express themselves through doing what they love, all while making a difference.

Good news begets better people

That was the conclusion of new research released by the University of British Columbia, that found people with a strong sense of "moral identity" were inspired to do good when they read media stories about Good Samaritans' selfless acts on a consistant basis.

It is vital that we control our media to create the world we desire to live in.
